Aliyah Joshua is a Chicago-based currently pursuing a BFA in Acting at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Drawn to storytelling that allows audiences to see themselves reflected onstage, she approaches her work with honesty, empathy, and deep listening.Her performance credits include Tanya (Mamma Mia!), Helen Hubbard (Murder on the Orient Express), and Matron Mama Morton (Chicago.In 2023, Aliyah expanded her artistic voice by writing, directing, and producing her original play Burn Your Fears.She has also been actively involved in Chicago’s theatre community through programs such as Chicago Trailblazers and her work as Head of the Music and Drama Department at YMCA Camp Eberhart, where she mentored young performers.Aliyah is passionate about creating work that feels truthful and inclusive, believing that acting is less about performance and more about connection. Proudly rooted in Chicago, she is committed to collaborative, fearless storytelling that makes people—especially those still finding their voice to feel seen and safe.
